I turn down far more courses than I actually do for various reasons. I only am able to do a few courses per year due to time constraints. If you are interested, do not let this fact put you off trying us to see if we are available. We can juggle our schedules if need be.
I conduct the courses as a labour of love because I know how difficult it is to break into the world of tattooing and it is near impossible to get apprenticeships. Often the person that I teach has already been tattooing from home and is doing a terrible job and damaging people, and will continue to do so unless taught how to do it properly. Often people are just really passionate about entering the tattoo industry and most artists are really guarded with their tattoo knowledge as they do not want to create their own competition, which is understandable.
This industry is riddled with people who do not know what they are doing, including many so called ‘professional’ shops, and we are trying to put pressure on those outfits that bring disrepute to our industry by providing access to professional help. If you do not know what you are doing and are tattooing anyhow. STOP NOW!!!!!
Some people have asked why the course costs what it does. I basically put my life on hold to conduct the courses, including turning away all my tattoo appointments, (which can generate substantially more than the course cost) and not tending to my other businesses, and I'm often hundreds of kilometers away from my home for the duration of the course. (I live in dbn) Also the initial price of the course is really easily recuperated when you are earning in one of the worlds highest profit margin industries.
