LOOKING AFTER YOUR NEW TATTOO

WHEN YOU ARRIVE HOME AFTER RECEIVING YOUR NEW TATTOO, REMOVE DRESSING, (IF COVERED) AND HAND WASH WITH WARM WATER AND SOAP, THEN PAT DRY WITH A CLEAN TOWEL.  ALLOW 4 HOURS TO AIR THEN REPEAT.  RUB A SMALL AMOUNT OF ANTISEPTIC LOTION (BEPANTHEN) ON TATTOO.   THE NEXT DAY HANDWASH IN THE MORNING & EVENING, APPLYING BEPANTHEN DIRECTLY AFTER.  DO NOT SOAK IN WATER.

For the following 2 weeks... Do not soak the tattoo at all.

A THIN LAYER OF SCABBING WILL FORM ON TATTOO, THIS SCAB MUST FALL OFF ON IT'S OWN.  DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH SCABS AS THIS WILL CAUSE PATCHINESS IN THE TATTOO.

ONCE ALL THE SCABS ARE OFF, APPLY A LAYER OF VITAMIN-E OIL OR MOISTURISING LOTION FOR A FEW DAYS.

IF THERE ARE ANY GAPS OR PATCHES IN THE TATTOO, GO BACK TO YOUR TATTOO ARTIST FOR TOUCH UPS.  THESE ARE USUALLY FREE OF CHARGE, BUT REALIZE THAT IF YOU WENT SWIMMING WITH YOUR NEW TATTOO, OR FAILED TO LOOK AFTER IT, YOUR ARTIST WILL KNOW.

WHEN GOING IN THE SUN FOR EXTENDED PERIODS, APPLY A FAIRLY HIGH FACTOR SUNBLOCK.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR TATTOO IS AS IMPORTANT AS APPLYING IT PROPERLY.  YOUR TATTOO ARTIST TAKES A LOT OF PRIDE IN HIS WORK, AND SPENDS A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT GIVING YOU THE BEST PRODUCT FOR YOUR MONEY.  LOOK AFTER IT, AND IT WILL SERVE YOU WELL.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUERIES REGARDING YOUR NEW TATTOO, OR ARE WORRIED ABOUT ANYTHING, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL ME, SEAN: 072 322 9869

LOOKING AFTER YOUR NEW PIERCING (GENERAL)

  • WASH YOUR NEW PIERCING TWICE DAILY, WITH UNPERFUMED SOAP, OR TCP & WARM WATER.  MAKE SURE TO REMOVE ANY CRUSTY DISCHARGE (LYMPH) AS THIS BREEDS BACTERIUM.

  • APPLY A SMALL DOLLOP OF ZAMBUK OR POLYSPORIN ANTI-SEPTIC LOTION TO BOTH ENDS OF PIERCING.

  • PAT DRY WITH CLEAN TOWEL.

  • CONTINUE TREATMENT FOR TWO WEEKS, OR UNITL DISCHARGE STOPS.

       EAR PIERCINGS

  • AFTER YOU HAVE YOUR EARS PIERCED, YOU MUST WASH THE AREA TWICE DAILY, WITH UNPERFUMED SOAP, OR TCP & WARM WATER. MAKE SURE YOU WASH BOTH SIDES OF THE PIERCING.

  • APPLY A SMALL DOLLOP OF ZAMBUK OR POLYSPORIN ANIT-SEPTIC LOTION ON BOTH ENDS OF PIERCING.

  • PAT DRY WITH CLEAN TOWEL.

  • YOU SHOULD WEAR ONLY GOLD, SILVER OR SURGICAL STEEL EARINGS AT FIRST. SOME PEOPLE ARE ALLERGIC TO ANY OTHER METALS.

  • ROTATE THE EARINGS AT LEAST TWICE A DAY TO KEEP THE HOLES FREE FROM SCABBING.

  • CONTINUE TREATMENT FOR TWO WEEKS, OR UNITL DISCHARGE STOPS.

  • YOYU MUST NOT REMOVE THE EARINGS FOR AT LEAST THREE TO FOUR WEEKS UNTIL THE SKIN IS HEALED.

  • DURING THE FIRST YEAR YOU SHOULD WEAR EARINGS MOST OF THE TIME TO KEEP THE HOLES FROM CLOSING. NEWLY PIERCED EARS WILL CLOSE UP QUICKLY AT FIRST IF YOU DO REMOVE YOUR EARRINGS.

  • IF YOU PIERCE OTHER PARTS OF YOUR EAR, KEEP IN MIND THAT OTHER AREAS BESIDES THE EARLOBE WILL TAKE LONGER TO HEAL AND WILL NOT CLOSE UP AS EASILY.

TONGUE, LIP & CHEEK PIERCINGS

  • GARGLE WITH ANTI-BACTERIAL LISTERINE AFTER SMOKING, EATING & DRINKING.

  • WASH OUTSIDE OF LABRET & CHEEK PIERCINGS WITH UNPERFUMED SOAP.

  • PAT DRY WITH CLEAN TOWEL & PLACE A TINY DOLLOP OF ANTI-BACTERIAL LOTION (ZAMBUK OR POLYSPORIN) ON OUTSIDE OF PIERCING.

  • TONGUE LIP & CHEEK PIERCING JEWELLERY SHOULD BE CHANGED TO SHORTER BARS AFTER TWO WEEKS.  ONLY USE JEWELLERY FROM A REPUTABLE TATTOO ARTIST AS THE METAL MUST BE OF A HIGH QUALITY SURGICAL STEEL.

DO NOT !!

  • USE SURGICAL SPIRITS TO CLEAN PIERCING, AS THE SPIRITS ARE VERY STRONG & ACTUALLY HAMPER THE HEALING PROCESS.

  • CHANGE JEWELLERY IN THE FIRST TWO MONTHS, AS INSERTING NEW JEWELLERY CAN RIP UP THE HEALING TISSUE.

  • PLAY WITH YOU NEW PIERCING.  YOUR GRUBBY HANDS ARE FULL OF HARMFUL BACTERIA.

  • SWIM IN PUBLIC POOLS, DAMS FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS.  (WATER HAS A HIGH BACTERIAL COUNT)

IF YOUR PIERCING DEVELOPS PERSISTANT REDNESS, CLEAN IT FOR TWO DAYS, MORNING & NIGHT, WITH SURGICAL SPIRITS & AN EARBUD.  THEN RETURN TO YOUR NORMAL CLEANING REGIME (AS ABOVE)  IF YOU HAVE ANY QUERIES REGARDING YOUR NEW PIERCING, OR ARE WORRIED ABOUT ANYTHING, PLEASE CALL US.
